The K03 Lite version includes the new abrasive holder without Axicube-I, making this its only difference from the K03 Pro. The holder guide is a calibrated steel rod. The tight dimensional tolerances of this guide will allow the use of the high-accuracy Axicube-i angle finder, which can be fitted separately to the Lite version. Warning! Do not purchase the Axicube-I with a rod, because the rod in this kit is already suitable for Axicube! The K03 Pro requires no calibration and is assembled in a couple of minutes.
The K03 Pro body has no horizon deviation and the knife is clamped parallel to the table. The modern rack and pinion lift, which has a rail with involute (toothed) gearing and stepless adjustment, allows you to set the angle with an accuracy of 0.1°. A brass-toothed wheel drives the slide, the steel-brass pairing ensures smooth slide movement. Due to its improved design, the height adjuster with an extended angle will allow you to sharpen knives in a range of angles from 8° to 39°, which helps you to sharpen to a total angle of up to 78°.
The movable part is connected to the base with a dovetail, which guarantees absolute accuracy of the angle setting. An additional locking screw allows the lift to be rigidly locked during deburring operations. An additional lifting rod is used to increase the angle of sharpening. Fixing its position is now more convenient: the fixing screw can be installed on either side of the body. The response part of the lift is made of a durable polymer material - polyacetal. It is a super strong and high-performance polymer with a density of 1.420 g/cm3. Polyacetal has excellent antifriction properties, providing excellent smooth running of the rack and pinion lift. The polymer is black, highly wear and abrasion-resistant. It retains its initial appearance and smooth shiny surface for a long time. The slider is fastened through a dovetail connection, which eliminates backlash of the machine during operation, which could affect the quality of the sharpening. A steel rail is responsible for the operation of the lifting mechanism. An angle measurement scale is applied on the front side of the slide and allows you to visually control its setting.
The unique rotating mechanism has a wide lever that facilitates rotation and ensures reliable auto-locking of the clamping frame. Thanks to a spring and bearing system, the frame turns over without the wear of the mechanism. The body of the auto-rotate system is made of durable aircraft-grade aluminum, anodized in black.
Universal abrasive holder allows using with the sharpener any abrasive stones both on blanks and without blanks. The abrasive holder has no metal backing, but thanks to the special geometry of the stops it allows you to fix the abrasives as securely as possible. The abrasive holder bar has an increased length of 694 mm, is made of steel, and has high rigidity. The holder bar is collapsible and connected by an aluminum sleeve coupling, with a three-point mounting, which gives the maximum tightness of the connection. The rod is equipped with a handy thumbscrew for adjustment, and the junction of the rod is made in one motion.
Whole-milled clamps, made of high-strength aircraft-grade aluminum. This type of clamp provides the greatest rigidity and stability of the unit. Thanks to the monolithic design of the clamps, their main advantage is the increased resistance to abrasive pressure, which ensures a constant angle during all phases of work, from roughing to finishing. No calibration or adjustment to different blade shapes is required when working with this type of clamp. They have a simple and convenient principle of clamping (using a single key), which allows you to clamp a variety of knives, including knives with bevels from the spine, folding, kitchen, hunting, etc.
The TSPROF steel base, weighing over 3 kg, holds the unit securely on the table and allows you to sharpen on any flat surface.
