Venev 50/40 - 20/14 Double Sided Diamond Bar

Made by Venev Industrial Diamonds Inc. Unlike other abrasive stones, diamond bars have a much slower wear rate, so using them with hard steels is recommended.

This 6" long diamond bar can be used with all TSPROF and other sharpeners.

The 50/40 side is manufactured using the B2-01 organic binder, which consists of phenol-formaldehyde resins and various compositions based on them. During hot pressing, these resins are transformed into a hard and strong substance that secures the cutting grains in the tool's working layer. This bond is designed to be strong and flexible, yet not too rigid. To increase its stiffness, manufacturer adds abrasive grinding powders like boron carbide.

The 20/14 side is manufactured using an advanced OSB binder, which stands out by not incorporating boron carbide. Unlike other OSB bonds, the abrasive layer here is not sintered, but glued to the body of the metal plate. The absence of unnecessary inclusions of other abrasives allows softer and finer work.

Straight out of the box, this bar is ready for use and does not require leveling with silicon carbide. The OSB bond is perfect for working with hard steels at shallow angles.

The sides are marked with the grit value according to the GOST scale.

Specifications

Due to production peculiarities, the width and length of the abrasive may deviate from the values specified in the description by up to 5%.

Recommendations for work:

Use soapy water or oil. Working with oil keeps the process cleaner.

Warning. These bars require careful work: do not apply pressure on the abrasive during sharpening (especially when sharpening the tip of the knife), do not allow the abrasive to come off the blade and do not allow the bar to fall on hard surfaces.
