TSPROF Aluminum Backing Plate, With Adhesive Layer

Aluminum backing plate with bevels, suitable for natural and synthetic stones, leather, or sandpaper. 

Stones attached to the aluminum backing plate remain clamped in the abrasive holder thanks to the bevels of the plate and the mating holes in the abrasive clamps.

The backing plate has a special 3M adhesive layer. This adhesive material uses elastic acrylic polymers with closed cells as a base. It provides a quick adhesion while having exceptional bonding strength. This material shows high resistance to UV radiation, moisture, salts, solvents, and temperature.

How to use:

• The best working temperature of bonding for 3M adhesive material is 18-40° С. The bonded surface of the abrasive must be degreased beforehand (with alcohol, nitro paint remover, acetone) and then air dried for 10-15 minutes.
• Before degreasing, sand the surfaces of Boride stones and wooden bars with 70-120 grit sandpaper. Remove the protective film from the adhesive layer. Stick the stone to the adhesive layer. Press the glued surfaces with a load of 5-10 kg and wait for 10-15 minutes.
• You can use the abrasive 24 hours after sticking it to the plate.
